Vegetable Literacy

by Deborah Madison.

I am so excited about my new cookbook. (It's the first cookbook I've bought for myself.) Not only does it have delicious sounding recipes and beautiful pictures, but the first half of the book teaches how to prepare and cook all different kinds of vegetables, and what they're used for. Here's to eating well.

Kayleigh

I've been sitting on these pictures for a little while, and I am so excited to share them. Kayleigh is the kind of friend that just makes everyone around her feel happy. I've valued her friendship so much over the years.

Moving on.

Since the last time we talked, I graduated, put up my final show (and passed my review), saw my parents twice, took down my final show, found out where we'll be moving long term, moved in (temporarily) with my in-laws, and started making plans for a fun and productive summer.

Steven got a job teaching in the tri-cities area in Washington, and we are just so excited. It feels so right for us (and it felt that way before we even know if they were going to interview him, but we didn't want to jinx it). So we're spending a couple of months in Idaho with Steven's parents to save up some money before out big move to Washington.

I'm going to use this summer to re-vamp my blog and personal brand and get a little business up and running. For real this time.

Stay tuned.

A selfie and sixteen and a half words.

I miss you guys and I miss blogging, and I'll be back for real on Monday.

My final show.

My BFA final show is up! My opening reception is this Friday in the Harris Fine Arts Center on BYU campus. I'd love to see any and all of you there.

*Also, I've been getting tons of spam comments, so I've enabled comment moderation.

Oh, hello.

I still exist. I took a little break from blogging. It was planned. Sorry I didn't tell you before, but I knew it would just upset you. I'm not really back yet, just here with a little update. I'm in full on crunch-time (panic) mode for my final show, which goes up in a week. I've finally got a sort of permanent website up: brittanyerinnelson.com (right now, it's just a redirect, but, you know). We're moving out of our apartment on the 17th (maybe sooner), and we still don't really have any solid plans after that. Basically, I am the epitome of flying blind right now.

And that's all I have for you.

On how God works through other people.

"Stop making yourself feel guilty, you don't need to feel guilty for wanting something," my mom told me.

And the next day,

"Observe your emotions without judging them," my yoga teacher told me.
